APRED Ndera, Strengthening Teaching and Learning Through ICT

Today, On 03rd September 2025, APRED NDERA launched a three-day special ICT training session for teachers, aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning through the effective use of technology. This initiative reflects the school’s commitment to equipping teachers with modern skills that make lessons more engaging, interactive, and learner-centered.

During the sessions, teachers were guided on:

  • Using laptops, projectors, and other digital tools in lesson preparation and delivery.
  • Accessing online educational resources to enrich classroom content.
  • Encouraging collaboration and research through digital platforms.
  • Applying different approaches such as E-learning, Blended Learning, Hybrid Learning, and Distance Learning.

This program empowered GS APRED NDERA teaching staff with practical strategies to integrate ICT into daily teaching, improving both classroom practices and student learning experiences.

Connecting With Rwanda Education Board’s (REB) Efforts

This initiative is closely aligned with the Rwanda Education Board’s national agenda on ICT in education. REB has made remarkable progress in this area, including:

  • Training over 25,000 teachers nationwide under the CADIE project.
  • Establishing 61 smart classrooms (Centres of Excellence) equipped with laptops and projectors.
  • Distributing 18,500 laptops, projectors, and smart-classroom kits to schools across the country in 2025.
  • Certifying thousands of teachers in Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) and UNESCO ICT Competency Framework (CFT) programs.
  • Expanding internet connectivity to hundreds of schools to enable digital learning.

These efforts demonstrate Rwanda’s strong commitment to ensuring that every teacher is digitally empowered and that students have access to 21st-century learning opportunities.

By organizing this training, GS APRED NDERA is contributing to this national vision. The school is determined to:

  • Continue empowering teachers with ICT skills.
  • Use digital tools to improve lesson delivery and student engagement.
  • Align teaching practices with Rwanda’s goal of building a knowledge-based society.

Today’s training was not just a school event, but part of a larger journey led by REB to transform education in Rwanda through ICT. GS APRED NDERA is proud to play its role in this transformation and remains committed to creating a dynamic, innovative, and technology-driven learning environment for all students.
