Curriculum Implementation and Assessment

Curriculum Implementation and Assessment Policy of GS APRED NDERA establishes a clear framework for how the school designs its curriculum delivery and evaluates learning outcomes. All stakeholders at GS APRED NDERA are expected to adhere to this policy from the effective date forward, ensuring consistency and quality in educational practices

Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to outline the strategic intent and operational procedures for effective delivery of the curriculum and comprehensive evaluation of student learning at GS APRED NDERA. It ensures that implementation of Rwanda’s Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) meets national benchmarks and prepares learners for higher education, employment, and responsible citizenship. In particular, the policy aims to:

  • Align with National Standards: Ensure that teaching and assessment practices comply with Rwanda Education Board (REB) and Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) guidelines, bridging both general education and technical/vocational streams. This alignment guarantees that our school’s curriculum implementation meets or exceeds national curriculum standards and evolves with any updates in national policy.
  • Promote Quality and Relevance: Provide a structured framework that guarantees uniformity, equity, and quality in the delivery of both general education and TVET programs across all levels. By doing so, the policy supports the development of real-world competencies, critical thinking skills, and entrepreneurial mindset in students, in line with Rwanda’s education goals and international best practices.
